- <p> Health: Bandar Seri Begawan is free from most diseases
- commonly associated with the Far East. Medical services are
- heavily subsidized by the government and are generally free.

- <p> Telecommunications: Telephone service to the US is available
- 24 hours and requires no advance booking. Telegraph service
- also is available. Bandar Seri Begawan is 13 hours ahead of
- eastern standard time.

- <p> Transportation: Brunei International Airport is some 8 miles
- from Bandar Seri Begawan, and daily flights are available to
- Singapore from which connections to other international
- capitals may be made.

- <p> Tourist attractions: The Sultan 0mar Ali Saifuddin Mosque is
- among the most impressive in Southeast Asia. Exhibits relating
- to the life of Sir Winston Churchill are featured in the
- Churchill Memorial Museum. The Hassanal Bolkiah Aquarium has a
- fine collection of tropical marine life displayed in 47 tanks.
- The Kampung Air (water village), showpiece of a traditional
- form of life is located next to Bandar Seri Begawan.
